Updated on 2003/11/6:
- Quadband.
- Large 16-bit colour display.
- Integrated camera with a flash, a protective cover and at least one megapixel resolution. Having the ability to rotate, so that we can take pictures of ourselves, would be a big plus. (by DireWolf and Prometheus)
- MMC/SD slot, capable of running Java and MP3 from the card.
- Large memory, at least 4 MB.
- Simultaneous keypresses and sounds in Java, if that's possible at all.
- Bluetooth and IrDA APIs for Java.
- Dedicated loudspeaker for ringtones, located on the side or back of the phone. This would eliminate the need for acoustic shock protection, and allow for quieter, as well as louder ringtones.
- Optional (via menu toggle) acoustic shock protection, if the previous item is not implemented.
- Option to instantly loop ringtones (i.e. no pause between a ringtone's ending and the next one's beginning; e.g. abc abc abc/abcabcabc).
- In the menus, has the right softkey always assigned to immediate actions, like "open", "send" and "OK", and the left softkey for other actions, like "cancel", "options" and "no".
- Possibility of using 8-bit characters outside SMS messages, i.e. in MMS messages, contact names, e-mail, etc..
- Timestamp for outgoing calls.
- When someone calls, it displays the person's name and picture, but also an icon depicting home/work/mobile number.
- Individual ringtone for each contact.
- When a call is missed, it goes into a temporary list, where the user can see how many calls from each number were missed. After viewing, the missed calls go into the "standard" missed calls record.
- Single keypress to browse each contact, on the standard addressbook and in group selection.
- Option to sort the phonebook by first or last name.
- Different ringtones for each audio profile.
- Animated wallpapers and screensavers, even with backlight off.
- Radio (not essential).
Updated on 2003/11/12:
- IrDA interface at the top end of the phone, and be powerful enough to be used as a remote control by a Java MIDlet.
Updated on 2003/11/17:
- Recessed display, so that it doesn't get grease when we put it aginst our face to talk.
- Show person's age in birthday calendar events.
Updated on 2003/11/23:
- Shows the time (and perhaps the date, too) when in power saving screensaver.
- In the Calendar, has an option to go directly to a chosen date.

- Possibility of transferring SMS messages to and from the SIM card.
Updated on 2003/11/25:
- Status LED on top on the phone, so that the user can see more easily see incoming calls/messages. Can be switched off. (By eswa)
Updated on 2003/11/30:
- Timestamp for sent messages: if Status Report is enabled, the received date/time is stored; otherwise, what is saved is the sent date/time.
- Customizable menu icons, via GIF or ICO/ANI files.
- Chat via Bluetooth/IrDA.
- Editable T9 dictionary.
Updated on 2003/12/08:
- Displays a progress bar when sending an SMS/MMS, scanning for Bluetooth devices, etc..
- When a file is received via Bluetooth, the user is alerted with a ringtone, like with SMS/MMS messages. This is because sometimes the user has the phone in his/her pocket and isn't expecting a file.
- Each menu item has its right softkey assigned to "Select" (like previous Siemens phones), and the left one assigned to "Assign". This sets the highlighted command as a shortcut (2 to 9), accessible from the standby screen.
- Possibility of having Bluetooth and IrDA simultaneously activated.
Updated on 2003/12/17:
- Optional dynamic vibration and keypad lights, from MMF files.
- Option to only download e-mail headers, and then choosing which messages to download.

- Firmware-update program should be available for Linux too. (by uggeli)
- Optional "making call" sound ("tilulii... BEEP"). (by uggeli)

- The user can select a number from the phonebook, when filling "?" characters in a number.
